Socio-economic support

Burundian refugees living in Rwanda face problems of various kinds, mainly related to the living conditions of exile, such as the lack of means of subsistence and the desperation due to precarious living conditions.

It is with the determination to overcome these difficulties that Maison Shalom has set up the project called "Chain of Solidarity". This denier consists of training and granting microcredit to women with children under 5 and young people between the ages of 18 and 35, promoters of micro-projects and working in solidarity groups of at least 5 people.

Supporting these refugees, Maison Shalom seeks a dual purpose: to contribute to the improvement of their socio-economic conditions in exile and prepare them for a constructive return to Burundi.
